Pawpaw (or Prairie Banana), holds the title of producing the largest edible fruit native to North America. In mid-spring, before or as the leaves emerge, the branches bear unusual, six-petaled, deep maroon-to-purple flowers. The fruit ripens in late summer to early autumn, producing large, soft, creamy, custard-like pulp tastes like a rich, tropical blend of banana, mango, pineapple, and vanilla. Naturally Pest-Resistant. Pawpaws require a partner tree for cross pollination.
