An upright, deciduous tree. The brilliant crimson-colored bark on younger wood makes it a phenomenal accent in the winter garden. New leaves emerge bright green with soft red edges that soften into summer. Fall color includes golden yellow, apricot and light red. Sango kaku means "coral tower" in Japanese.
