The 'Cardinal' is an elite, early-ripening Korean cultivar that is perfectly suited for home orchards in British Columbia. This is a "crunchy" type persimmon. You can eat it straight off the tree like an apple while it is still firm, or wait for it to soften into a honey-like consistency. It is sweet, large, and lacks the mouth-puckering tannins found in astringent varieties. Naturally smaller than other fruit trees, it maintains a tidy, rounded shape that is easy to manage in a backyard setting
